Descendent of Devilry Blockout in Unreal Engine 5
A downloadable game
I made this blockout in Unreal Engine 5 for my level design portfolio. I envisioned a first person fantasy combat game and scripted some basic mechanics.
This project is inspired by the Castlevania TV series, specifically the way Alucard duels with other characters using a magic sword and rapid movement. There were many other influences including games like Boomerang X for the movement; Void Bastards for the comic book intro; Darkest Dungeon for the setting; and where my research led me to Maken X and Zeno Clash for first person combat with target lock-on.
I also created a game manual, like those found inside physical cases for games, which outlines some lore and other things you may find interesting.

Known issues:
- The player can jump through walls with the sword throw/leap ability (try not to!)
- Sword throw/leap ability may have some other rare glitches
- Crossbow bolts don't deal damage
Things I would have loved to add:
- Parry
- Damage to enemies from throwing the sword
- Crossbow ammo
- Stamina
- Enemy AI
- Lots more
